Scotland don’t seem to be able to keep the intensity up after the first half. The same last week against Wales but they just about had enough of a head start.

Carley is so inconsistent.
Penalised Scotland for dragging player into touch after calling tackle.
France drag Scot into ingoal after he calls tackle. Decides it's held up.
Just wrong Mr Carley.

Quite enjoyable game I thought.

I find Finn Russell frustrating to watch. Flashes of sheer brilliance interspersed with silly mistakes.
With Russell you have to accept the silly to get the brilliance.
He will be more effective in club rugby where his teammates have (slightly) more of a clue as to what's coming.

It’s why I don’t see him in with a shout of starting for the Lions. They’ll go with the consistency of Pendergast. I’d like to see White start at 9 but would Prendergast outside him make use of his fast playing of the ball? I suspect he’ll miss out to Gibson-Park but hope not. I don’t want to see a load of Kiwi or South African rejects in the Lions team.

The only mitigation I could see was his own player coming back knocked him and made him fall but that’s not the reason the officials gave. I called it as a red as soon as it happened and before the ref picked it up. After the replays it was either a straight red or an accident and not even a penalty.

It seems like almost the whole of the rugby world thinks it was a straight red - except for the officials in Paris (France) considering sending off a French player (in France) in the must-win decider of the 6Nations.

"mitigation" doesn't come into off-the-ball incidents. The guy wasn't tackling, and the whistle had gone.

Yeah 5 teams played consistently decent rugby (other than Italy’s off day against France). Even Wales managed some brief glimpses against Ireland and second half against Scotland. Lots of tries including some really high quality backs. NH rugby is blessed with some really exciting players at present.

Very pleased with the results overall and there have been some good matches. Was rooting for France last night. Only managed to watch the final 20 due to stuff, and the result was beyond doubt by then.

So we have a three-way shared championship. ;)

Wishing M Dupont a speedy recovery.

A good 6 nations. France were the best by some distance and the performance against Ireland was awesome in the true sense of the word. Ireland are on the way down and need to rebuild but are unlucky not to be in second place. England got the luck they didn’t have in the autumn and showed glimpses of the side they could become. Scotland need some really strong front 5 forwards and would be able to win consistently with their brilliant back line. Italy have some quality but not the depth to last 80 minutes. Wales have improved as the tournament went on but from a very low base. Bring on the lions!
