I'm cooking chilli should be enough for five meals

By coincidence my daughter doing a chilli today. I have just bought the beans and chilli sauce for her.
She uses minced turkey instead of beef though........ I much prefer beef.

Seeing that I have a long wait for my parcel I just made a fruit cake

Good morning. Been a bit of a rush so far. It's time for a quick sit down. Mrs P is doing cutting and sticking with the small one. I've been on the phone all morning to the local benefits agency. My son's Housing Benefit has been suspended. His Housing Association are jumping up and down!!!! Long story short, unless you've got three hours, is the benefits agency made an error in updating their system resulting in accidentally suspending his benefit.

Whenever I phone the local council, authority, benefits etc. the folk I speak to are wonderfully helpful. All they need is someone calmly asking questions, answering clearly and being nice to them. It really works.

I have to make lunch now.......👋👋

I hate it when things like that happen, you may not know, but housing benefit is going over to universal credit from now until 2026
you can bet your bottom dollar we will be sold short.

Out on the bike this morning, about 100 miles, it’ll now take half a day to clean everything, bike, leathers, boots etc, all absolutely caked in sticky filth, worth it though. Surprisingly I didn’t see many other motorcyclists out today!

I got some good feedback from my last effort at making Barm Braic. The previous one where I soaked the fruit in freshly brewed coffee and a generous glug of 10 year old Islay malt had a mixed reception. The peaty smell persisted after the baking and you could certainly taste the smokiness. I quite liked it but others found it a bit too much. With my latest effort I steeped the fruit in a mix of camomile tea, and De Kuyper cherry brandy liqueur for 48 hours, and added several Glacé cherries some chopped, some whole to the final mix.

Everything washed and cleaned, took about an hour so not too bad!

Customer service not a lot of help "wait until 24 hours"

Can't get my head around a pharmacy stocking bread.

I know - I feel really weird asking about it and picking it up
until I see the prices of bread and biscuits and stuff in the supermarket's Gluten Free aisle!!!!

The good news is you can buy a cheap replacement on eBay. Probably yours, in fact...

Nice trip out today
We have an investment looked after by a Financial Advisor in Llandudno - where I used to live

so we go out there to have a meeting about this and other stuff about once a year

Important this year because we have to get out National Insurance sorted out soon
i.e. before we get within a year of being officially old getting our Old Age Pension

plus wanting to sort a few things out

anyway - nice trip out there and back
weird to go to places I used to live - I sort of feel like I belong there but no longer do

anyway - all sorted now
