Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
That's good to hear Welshie, and hopefully will soften the blow of me telling you that you're not really my favourite Brummie. Jasper Carrot takes that mantle, with you a very close second 😁

He's still going strong you know. I don't mind being 2nd to him.

We saw him at the Tiv in Wimborne a few months back, a great show with a series of anecdotes both humorous and poignant from his life so far. He did an extra night as the first one was completely sold out well in advance. If the authorities had wanted to round up most of the Brummies in Dorset, that would have been the time to swoop 😁

We used to go and see him in folk clubs all round Worcestershire. There was a place called The Boggery in Solihull another in Alcester. There were others I've forgotten. This would have been 73/74. I lived in Pershore at the time.

Oi ! ........ Wot about me?
I went to the same school as Jasper Carrott and I also installed a telephone in his flat when he lived in Acocks Green around 1973.
I used to go to the Boggery folk club around 1973/4 as well.

Talking previously of practical stuff, this morning I've MiG welded a 17mm nut to the drive screw of a MTB crank puller so that I can use my air impact on it.
I've also fixed a window lock on MrsD's office window.
On top of that I've used a bore gauge on a BSA cylinder for a mate to see if it needs a rebore (it didn't - so I gave it a light hone instead).
I'm now off down to the Star Inn for lunch.

Hello! It is a beautiful day. Small person #1 is here. We had SP#2 yesterday. SP#1 is making Christmas biscuits with Nana. Granddad is nackered, he can't remember the last decent night's sleep or when he has a bit of Granddad time for himself. Currently I'm sneaking upstairs for a nap shortly.

The car is booked for service on Thursday. The front nearside wheel is making a terrible grinding noise when braking. The mechanic muttered pads, I Imagine he's right.

Hope you’ve not let it go too long and need discs too.

There you go I've probably stood shoulder to shoulder with Dirk at the bar.

On a practical level I understand the concept of "welding" and know what a window lock is..........beyond that I'm hopelessly lost 🤣

They had a pack of the salmon with chili flakes reduced from its usual eye watering £5.50 to £3.75 as it’s to be used by today. I will have one fillet with rice for lunch and probably have the other with a baked potato and veg tonight.

I don't pay attention to sell by dates. If it looks good and doesn't smell, then it is fine to eat it.
Our daughter in law is the world's worse for sell by dates. If something is within 2 days of it, she won't touch it and she passes it on to us. We get lots of free food from her.
