I agree and I try to avoid it but sometimes needs must. If I can improve the lights I'll feel more comfortable.You have to be careful not to break the law regarding the brightness of new lights. Personally as we get older, we don't tend to want to drive in the dark. I know I don't particularly like doing it.
Are the lens OK or are they getting cloudy
they should be clear
My old car's lenses were getting very bad and the garage commented that they would need replacing soon - I got a "kit" from Halfords to polish them and it made a big difference
I think you can also get better bulbs - just be careful to get normal ones and not the ones the young idiots get that dazzle passing drivers!

Excuse my ignorance. By lens do you mean the glass which covers the whole light unit or the reflective silvery bit at the back?
I feel better bulbs will help. I'll definitely be careful as those kids annoy the hell out of me. I'm also very conscious bright lights can be a hazard. I think the very bright lights which have appeared in the last 2 - 3 years are dangerous. They can be blinding and with the silly fashions on indicators it's very difficult to see if, or what, a driver is indicating.
If I'm waiting to pull out from a junction or onto a roundabout rather than rely on the indicators I wait till I can see the car turning before I go.

It will fail an MOT, depending on the diligence of the tester, by simply being fitted and that's before he even sees the poor beam pattern.
Even worse, be involved in a night time smack and an AI spots it you're in a word of pain with your insurance.
Stuck to high quality legal bulbs from the likes of osram or Phillips.

Lights on or off?I sell a professional kit for headlight resurfacing, not that I would sell you one as it is for business use. If you send me a photo of the lights I can certainly tell you if they can be improved by removing the old coating and recoating. Do not just take the coating off, it is there for a reason.
Mr WD has moved my washing machine. Poke around. Put a new filter in the bottom and it's still leaking. However there is no water at the back of the machine just at the front so it's not the inlet pipe. I will just use an old towel to mop up the water for now. Its now gushing out so that's a plus. If and when it stops working, then I will buy a new mahcine.

That would be my guess. Even with my lack of mechanical achievements I've fitted one of those.Not the door seal?
