Can you eat a whole loaf before it goes stale ?
I make the small size but even that is too much for me. IMO it's not the same if frozen.

I make a 2lb size and it lasts about 6-7 days, first 3 days OK for sandwiches, but after that toast
I keep my bread in a lock and lock plastic box, not cheap (£12) but very good it's the largest oblong they make.

Yes, that's what I find. They do make lovely toast though.

I don't like toasted brown bread. It tends to just break apart into pieces

You are from the old school when mechanics could strip an engine and replace any parts. Nowadays, the so-called techniciens wouldn't have a clue where to start. They just swap one for another. Without their electronic diagnostic gear, they are lost. Good on you.

It's been a few years since I was involved in any serious engine work; having to remember a lot of techniques I used to use.
At one time, I could remove a TZ350 Yamaha engine from a chassis, strip it down, change the crank and pistons, rebuild it and have it up and running again in the chassis - all within 4 hours.
Nowadays I just tinker. I think the days of rebuilding Honda CBRs and Kawasaki GPZs are behind me; as are the overnight workshop sessions.
