I'm used to shopping around each renewal, but this year my existing company surprised me with a renewal that was actually a few shekels lower than last year. So, for the first time in decades I'm with the same firm two years running.

I've been with Hastings direct for a while now, every year its the same dance, they quote high on the renewal then match what ever quote I find online, though this year the renewal quote was the highest so far and I wasn't sure they would play ball but they did. I shall have to have a look at putting myself in a position where I can make one payment and not pay in instalments and save even more money on it, their charge and interest this year are the highest its ever been.

Ah, that's where we differ. I never negotiate - if theyre not prepared to automatically give me their best price when they send the renewal then I take my business elsewhere.

When I call to tell them I will not be renewing they give it the old, "ooh, let's see what we can do for you Mr Farquhar." My response is invariably, "you had your chance."

Good morning,
Off to collect grandson this morning. His mums bringing him from Leeds so we'll meet up in London. He's here for a week then back to Leeds for a couple of days before heading to San Sebastián for a fortnight, back to Leeds then off to Washington state for another couple of weeks. Quite a busy lad!

Morning all. Up at stupidO'clock again.
I am getting closer to the end of this incessant paperwork. My fault but for months I couldn't get my head around it....so mine and the aunties kept mounting up.
I am pondering whether to put a lamb curry in the slow cooker but that means a trip to the butchers. Decisions ehh.
I'd go to the butchers first.
You can get the meat required, put it in the slow cooker and have it ready to eat when you've finished the paperwork. You can't go to the butchers while you do the paperwork.

I fear I confused things🙂.
The curry is to be divided into 3? and put in the freezer**.
I am being taken out for a Chinese tomorrow so that is taken care of.
**I may keep one portion out to eat on Friday/Saturday.

Barnet,
Good morning all.
A clear sunny sky to start the day.
A few domestics to do, and a long walk with the dog first off.
Then out on the bike to the local market for some fruit and vegetables.
As I have to pass the Mitre on the way home I may just divert in there for an ale or two.
