Good morning. A glorious sunny day in Lancashire. Another ridiculously busy retiree day. Been on the go since 6.00; that's the problem with not being at home, stuff doesn't get done. Anyway.

Next up Mrs P has a treatment day. I'm popping to a garden centre for potting compost and something to grow my tomatoes in. I want to find a peat based compost for the tomatoes. I'm 100% for all environmental efforts but.. .......last year I went all out on peat free. Despite being a Levington brand it was without doubt the worst compost I have ever seen. I'm serious about this and I worked in horticulture for 44 years, the last 20+ with one of the best peat-free growers in the UK. My 2024 tomatoes were an utter failure. The compost was 100% to blame.

Once home a lot of potting up to do, grass to cut, etc. Also need to press my suit and iron a shirt. We're at a wedding tomorrow.

I have a tree surgeon here today.
Outside my East facing fence there are a bunch of trees that block my sunlight much of the day.
It is council land but they say as they didn't plant them its not their responsibility blah blah blah.
So I am paying a guy to take them down.
I am sure the council will soon realise the trees really are their property and the sh*t will hit the fan.....but hey ho.
