As spring takes hold, I feel I can now start benefitting from retirement properly.
Kids up, fed, dressed and off to school. House already tidied by the time they've gone, off to town for some shopping, back and mowed the lawn (first cut this year) then walked the dog.
Currently sat in the garden, cloud is making the warmth a bit hit and miss...but today feels like a really good day to just enjoy not working but still doing 'stuff'

Chicken tikka and apple pie with cream for lunch

Mrs Tkk uses a large " Greenpan " saute pan to make her Risotto. It's a brilliant pan, so easy to clean. After cooking in it I usually fill it about 1/3 full with water with a squirt of washing up liquid and heat it up on the hob. When I did this last night on the induction hob I noticed that the pattern of bubbles as the water heated up was uniform across the base of the pan, when I used it on the gas hob there were more isolated regions.

Amazing!

Yes, I shop at Aldi and they regularly change things around. As you say it forces you to wander around the Isles. Very annoying.
I usually shop at Aldi. Things never get moved round in our store.........
Tesco on the other hand........nightmare

When I lived in foreign places (Wales - Bangor to be precise) they decided to make a lot of changes to the local Tesco

WHen they re-opened having done all the changes they had people at the door with a map of the new layout
and kept them avaialble near the door for several weeks

Great idea - great customer service

a fe wyears later they knocked the whole store down and moved to a tent in the car park for several months
then back into the new bigger store

no maps available in either case

I can only presume marketing found that having people wandering around looking for stuff increases sales

it all comes down to money

Good evening. It has been a beautiful day in Lancashire. I didn't bob in this morning as I wanted to get stuff done before riding.

This is a cycling forum. I will now witter about cycling. 68.4 miles today, my longest post crash ride. I'm more tired than I would hope but a friend pointed out you're nearly 71, hardly ridden for 10 months and most people can't conceive of riding that distance. Fair comment.

Di2? Hmmm. I had new shifters fitted due to my battery issues. Today I used 47% of the available charge. On that basis the shifters will probably last 150/60 miles. My conclusion on di2 is the shifting is superb, everything else connected to it is shite, manual, app, battery life etc. Rubbish. My new bike will be SRAM.

We went to a new, to me, cafe today. Wonderful coffee. I managed to resist the strong urge for a bacon roll. My blueberry Bakewell was good. My buddy ordered, without saying anything, a bacon roll. It was a thing of great beauty. An artistan crafted sourdough roll filled with a huge amount of perfectly cooked streaky. I nearly had to leave. This is a cafe to which we will return.......often.

That my friends is my day. Being a cycling pensioner is just the best thing.........ever!!

The Tesco app used to let you search for a product and it would display it complete with price and aisle number. The B+Q app still does this and will give both stock levels and aisle number.
