Well have given up getting these buggers off the bike, managed to get the drive side off with a 15mm spanner and rubber mallet, yes it was that tight. Non drive side is proving to be a b$£$%d, so soaking over night in plusgus and will take into work where I have some big boys tools.

Just remember to grease before you install the new ones.

If all else fails, heat the crank. Aluminium has a larger coefficient of thermal expansion than steel, so hopefully the crank will expand and release the steel spindle.

yep got a gas torch at work so will be getting that out. Original pedals were greased before fitting, just this bike is out in all weathers :/
