The new Bike is almost here at last!!

Hi - my first post so here goes....

Having ridden my very old Falcon Pro-line (Reynolds Cro-Moly) Frame with Shimano Altus for many years (I did say it was old!), I am finally making the step to a new bike. The magic Cycle to Work Scheme has opened up a great opportunity to own a decent bike and save some tax and VAT.

So I have gone for a 2008 Cinelli Experience which I believe is a great frame with half decent kit. The Campag Khasmin Wheels and the Mirage Groupset are certainly a step up from what I am used to. (I think my shoes are worth more than my current bike!)

Once I get the bike I will let everyone know what it is like, but I am interested to know if anyone has any knowledge of this or any Cinelli bikes and also where I can get a Cinelli Cycling Jersey?

Any advice or help will be gratefully received.

Thanks Palinurus. The Cinelli gear is a bit steep, it looks as expensive as some of the team shirts in the Tour. Is there a reason for this?

Has anyone else got any experience of riding a Cenelli bike?

Cheers

Disaster!!

Received my CTW voucher for £1K to spend at LBS and confirmed that they could go ahead and order my new Cinelli Xperience X Large. Now comes the problem the LBS now inform me that they cannot get hold of an XL anywhere. My options are to go for a Large frame instead of XL, or pick another bike. Does anyone know what the difference between L and XL usually is? I am 6ft 4" so I had planned to get the larger frame size. The other option is a CUBE Streamer or get them to build me a bike using one their own frames. Any ideas please.

Cheers

Erm - without a proper fit from a dealer then I'd not like to comment.

My best bike was made to measure - the rest just go off that one !!! That was 18 years ago....

If the LBS is willing to give you a longer bar stem / set it up properly, then it's not an issue - if they can sort it then fine !

Ordered the LBS's own carbon frame (XL) in the end which they are now building for me with the same set up as the Cinelli. There seems to be a national shortage of large bikes!! Just another ten days to wait and I will be off. Any advice on looking afer a carbon frame after a ride, does it need special attention?
