There are 3 triangles in a mixte frame versus 2 triangles in a diamond frame.
Although one triangle in each has 4 sides.

No, you've misunderstood what I meant rikki.... I like the structural integrity of triangles... so the bicycle is an amazingly efficient structure... the Mixte isn't as elegant a solution in my eyes but it's still fantastic!

I regret not getting my wife a Mixte frame when I built her road bike as it would have been slightly easier for her to get onto, but the frame she's got is ok tho.

I saw this Peugeot concept bike on bike radar a couple of days ago and I thought it harked back to mixtes. Mind you, being an electric bike it's probably more mixed than mixte.

i've just out of the blue been given another mixte framed bike, this time an all 531 frameset built by harry hall, who's mark is stamped onto the crown of the fork.
paint's a bit tatty, with surface rust, but i may even commute on it…
