New OHME charger fitted at home. It talks to the MINI app so the car will only charge between midnight and 0500hrs at 4p a kwh. On the MINI with its small battery that's enough to go from low to full. Kerchingaling.

Not so good is that the MG is, clearly, a different make and its a ballache to switch between makes and models in the OHME app, but other than that it's working well.

Doesn't the MG have a schedule settings to predetermine charging times/period?

4p is blooming excellent, which provider is offering that?

British Gash. We're on the EV plan, but they knock a further 4p off that off peak, something to to with connecting our Nest thermostat to them - Mrs D arranged that so I'm not so au fait with the nuts and bolts.

I'm still getting to grips with the MG, not helped as it's nominally Mrs D's car so I've not tinkered much with the app yet. The MINI app talks directly to the OHME app, a fiddle to set up but simple once working.

The MG app doesn't talk directly to OHME, so I think you're probably right and we'll have to set the start and finish times in the MG app and leave the OHME unit flying dumb. MG will be due another charge tomorrow night so I can delve further. My relationship with technology is fraught at the best of times

One nice thing about the MINI is the Haman Kardon sound system, a different planet to the stereo in my now departed Peugeot. System of a Down never sounded so good.

Well, as aforementioned by my handsome self elsewhere, now got the rear seat delete in my Mini.

Came into its own transporting my gear to last night's gig.

I'm starting to see the odd F66 series Countryman about now, yet to see a J01. Mine goes into the dealer for its summer safety check next month and I'll see if they've any J01's in the showroom.

After selling our Cooper D Clubman a couple years ago I ran a BMW 330d touring whilst my job required around 20000 miles a year. However Mrs Gunk always missed the Mini.

Retirement in April made me decide to sell the BMW and keep our Golf GTD as the main car. We made a very easy decision and that was to have another R55 Clubman on the drive.

This one is a 2009 1.6 petrol, Chilli pack, Tan leather, heated seats, privacy glass and the all important iPod connection and Bluetooth. Worth the 200 miles round trip to collect it!

Reading this thread reminds me of 1971 when me and three mates decided to watch the Rugby in Scotland. We drove up in my mini, sharing the driving, after work on the Friday night, watched the match on Saturday, had a few drinks, tried unsuccessfully to sleep in the car, and eventually started back on the trip to Cardiff at around 5.00 am on Sunday and were all in work on Monday.
Absolutely stupid thing to do that I would not recommend anyone to do but a great memory.
The car was eventually wrecked when an hgv pulled from the outside into the left lane not noticing that he had a mini car alongside his cab on the inside. Sometimes it's easy to forget how small they were.

Monday 3rd

I’ve seen 2 Minis today!
Both less than 500 yards apart (in a straight line)

The first was at the petrol station, on Altofts Road, opposite Lidl & the railway station
A blue ‘H’ suffix, sorry no photograph ('minlite' wheels too)

The other was this
It’s outside the garage l depicted on page 1 of the classic cars thread

It's now back on the road having a few emissions troubles. More I drive, the more I realise it needs a fair bit of suspension work.

Out of interest, how much more room does the delete kit get you over simply dropping the rear seat backs? And must you/should you declare this modification to your insurer? If you have, any change? Any idea of the weight saving?

I've also yet to see a J01 in the wild but there were a couple in the showroom at the dealer a couple of weeks ago when I took mine in for its free first birthday checkup. I had a sit in one - nice enough but I'd have to drive one to have a proper opinion.
