As long as I breathe, I attack.
This weekend is out. On lates Friday so sat was a no go and tomorrow looks bad weather wise so going to work for double bubble as I'm skint from roof repairs

May is in the bag. I headed off to Mitcham and followed a Fridays exit route from London - same as the recent Shoreham ride - so I could see what it looked like in daylight. Quite a nice way out of London it turns out.

Then I headed off to the Ashdown Forest to say hello to Winnie the Pooh. Up Kidd's Hill, then off to Sevenoaks for a train home, I'm currently en route.

I'll log the ride in the other thread when I get home.

The only times I have gone under 4 hours for 100km (according to the Best Efforts section in Strava) were during various editions of the Tour of Cambs, with my best being 3hrs 50mins. Best in a solo, non-closed roads effort was 4hrs 8mins - although even then I stopped for a few minutes here and there and so my moving time might have been very close to 4hrs.

But most of those times were back around 2015-2018 when I was a lot fitter and slightly lighter. Nowadays I'm typically around 4:30 - 4:40.

We are indeed a broad church.

I don't know what my fastest is. I'd take a guess at it being the day there was a howling wind from the West so I took the train to Gatwick and rode to Whitstable and rode like a rocket.

Edit: No, that wasn't my fastest. It looks like my fastest was when I joined my terrifyingly speedy friend for a few days of his LEJoG. From Southwell near Newark, along the flatness of the river Trent up to Snaith near Goole. 100k in 4hr 26, including a half hour coffee break! On a (admittedly very lightly) loaded bike.

After nearly every day on that mini tour I'd press stop on my Garmin and it would bombard me with lists of personal records that I had broken that day.
