Does anyone tip their tailor? Mine always seems slightly miffed when I walk out with the item he’s worked on. Tip related?

Would the navy one go with more of your outfits than the electric blue one.

While your on re your Cording suits do you get the same size waistcoat as suit jacket I.e. 42“ jacket, 42” waistcoat. My reason for asking is that I’m a 40”S in a jacket but in most cases I’m a 38” waistcoat.

Yes, the navy one would go with more of my outfits than the electric blue one. As for my Cordings suits, I buy them in a 42 inches jacket, in a long length for my long arms, a 40 inch waistcoat and 34 inches waist trousers with either a 32.5 or a 33 inch inseam, depending on the material and whether I asked for them with a straight hem or a cuffed/turn ups hem. I buy the waistcoats in a 40 chest and the jacket in a 42 chest as I'm a bit of an odd shape, due to upper body surgery 17 years ago. I have a 40 inch chest, but with having quite broad shoulders I prefer a 42 chest to accommodate them. With the waistcoat the shoulders don't come into it, as obviously waistcoats don't cover the shoulders.

I don't have a tailor, but If I did I'd tip him if he looked like he needed the money. If say he had a 50 grand Porsche parked outside I wouldn't tip him and also probably wouldn't go there in the first place as one should never flaunt one's wealth to one's customers, as if like me they'd think "Mmm, this fellow has far too much money, let's find a tailor that's up and coming and needs my custom more then old money bags does"!! 🤔 I knew of a very successful Italian restaurant that closed quite suddenly a few years ago. Why if it was so successful did it close, one may ask. Well, it was so successful that the owner went and bought a very very expensive brand new Lamborghini 'super car' and bragged about it and his other 'wealth' in a local newspaper article, as well as leaving the car parked outside his restaurant to show off even more. This obviously peed folk off as they probably thought "This bugger is fecking loaded and is letting us know he's fecking loaded due to us mugs using his restaurant! Lets stop going and go to a different restaurant that needs our custom, unlike big head here!!🧐

I sent the Borselino Avalon brown fedora back to the supplier this afternoon as It just didn't feel right. It was ok, but that's it, just ok, nothing to excite oneself I'd say. It was quite flimsy and just didn't seem worth the price, even though it was reduced to £279 from £400. I much prefer the two Bates poet fedoras supplied by Hilditch & Key (hence my desire to buy the Bates Bruand fedora) to the Borsalino hat as they are far better quality, making them look and feel better, in my opinion! It cost me £13.35 to return it as I chose the best returns option, which guarantees the cost of the hat will be paid to me if it happens to disappear in the postage system. 🧐

There is a forest green one, but It's more of a county colour which isn't quite suitable for such a hat, unless you want to stand out at some horse racing event I'd say. 🤔
