When I saw the post's title I thought it was about slimmers in Korea.

People that let an animals get in that state should be prosecuted for animal cruelty. One of the most intelligent, lively, willing, finely bred breeds of working dog should never be allowed to get in that state.

Yep, they have a bad name for hip and knee problems but if the dog is twice the weight it should be then what do people expect?.

I think they genetically food driven but doesn't mean you have to let them wind the food in at every opportunity.

I think the one that looked like a seal was mainly the shape he was in due to being the friendly pub dog and everyone wanting to feed him, a treat he didn't look like he shirked out of. No one would have been surprised though if someone had come in with some mackerel and held it up and the black creature on the floor sat up and clapped with its flippers! You really had to look twice to convince yourself if it was a sea-creature or a canine.
