I bought an ipod recently- and i couldn't help thinking at the time this is a bad idea. but its weird it seems to concentrate the mind i certainly look behind more than i used to

I listen to music as well, thought it bad at first too, but yeah it does make you weirdly more aware. Plus it drowns out most of the abuse you get from drivers. Happy dayz

Don't fool yourself though. Cycling whilst listening to music can be quite dangerous if 1) the volume is too loud, or 2) you're using outside noise limiting headphones.

Keep the volume low and use the right type of headphones and you'll be fine.

I often look at my speedo when im tired, or i take that off and just ride to get me home.
You shouldnt ride looking down though, someone on a very expensive TT bike doing a TT was looking down, and rode into the back of a caravan that was parked by the side of the road.
He wrote off his forks and damaged the back of the caravan. Luckily his wheel was fine.

Any news on his body?

Just his pride that was hurt, he was the second rider out.
Oh, and his wallet, apparently the repair on the caravan was a couple of grand, and his forks were expensive aswell, its a Cervelo TT bike so his forks werent cheap.

I must totally zone out on the bike anyway, the number of people that profess to seeing me. That i dont doubt, but im buggered if i can remember seeing any of them

Probably mistaken identity. I get this person, in the same car, that keeps waving at me, and I don't know who the f**k they are.

I've started waving back though.
