There’s never been a fifth Beatle, there was only ever four.
I thought George Martin was the only 'Fifth Beatle '.
Their music wouldn't have evolved or been as good as it was if it weren't for him.
Sure there were other members but there was only ever four in the band?
I'm a bit young to remember that, but I recall the scene in Backbeat.Pete Best, Stuart Suttcliffe
My usual claim for fame is that I went to the same school as the latter, although he'd left before I started. I was tought be the same art teacher. Story has it that the art teacher found a work done by Stuart in an old cupboard and it was sold to raise funds for the school.
I think these two were the only ones outside the Fab Four that would have played on stage under the name of the Beatles.
Stuart Sutcliffe died as most will know. I remember them announcing it during morning assembly.
I think so too, and so did McCartney reportedly. A good documetary about him here.I thought George Martin was the only 'Fifth Beatle '.

I didn't know that. Do you know what instrument he played? Was it piano?George Martin played on a lot of classic Beatles tracks.
