Fantastic write-up Chutzpah!!! I fall closer to the Camp 2 in that I've never cycled that distance or close (45 is my maximum) and I hate hills! I must try doing some of them in the daylight first!

And the rain was torrential! I went and stood outside with an umbrella as there was so much coming down.

My furthest before was 56, and my friend Tim's was 43. I think it's more just riding regularly and then taking it at a comfortable pace. I think one of the great things about the Exodus was the fact that those taking part were such a huge range of ages, sizes and types. There'll be some hyper fit ones who zoom off, there'll be plenty going at their own pace.

Well done to all who did the ride and braved the downpours.

As soon as there's a date it's going on the calendar for 2013! (Together with the Air Ambulance Watchet to West Bay).

Going to visit the Olympics was great though!

It's probably going to be August again. The full moon is mid-week, so one of the weekends either side.

I was reading with interest about this event a few weeks back, unfortunately I am a long way from attempting anything of that distance.

By coincidence I had to visit Exmouth (by internal combustion engine!) on Sunday.

Simply driving was an effort with the amount of water pouring from the sky. When I reached the town I saw a pack of riders which I am assume were on the Exodus coming in off the hill.

Each rider had a very wide grin on their face. Congrats to all

It's a shame it can't be moved to nearer longest day. I'll be doing next year either way, but June would be more awesome for me personally.
Having just looked back (and made myself feel ancient in the process ) so far the ride has run four times in June, and three in August. We'll see what happens next year, but there's a lot on in June 2013 already - the Dartmoor Classic, Nello Force Century and the Audax National 400. We'll see!

For anyone interested:
2006 August: (dry)
2007 June (wet)
2008 June (dry)
2009 June (OMG wet)
2010 June (dry)
2011 August (dry)
2012 August (wet)

I was impressed by the scouts User76 - as I said in my ride report, not sure what scouting badge they get for that? :-p

Enjoy the velodrome, not sure if you've ever done it before but it's definitely an experience!

I had a great time helping out at the food stop. As soon as I'd finished work I cycled the 26 miles to North Curry & got there for about half eleven. T'was good to see all the cyclists coming through; was also good to be able to see the sun rise.

I will admit I didn't have the will power to cycle all the way home. About half five (Once we'd cleaned down.) I rang my Dad and he kindly agreed to pick me up at the Ilminster roundabout petrol station. As I cycled along enjoying the early morning quietness one thought passed through my mind which was "Cyclist; they must be nutters to willingly cycle through the night" I'm definitely going to help out at the food stop again next year; unless I can be tempted into taking part in the ride itself that is
