Aye, people - even Landie folk - forget they on,y became the Defender in 1990 with the advent of the 200TDi engine, different gearbox and a number of chassis and body revisions.

The ignorati who stick Defender badges on Nineties and One-Tens (officially spelled out long hand, although body desals were often numeric 90 or 110) are called Offenders.

Got it in one!!
I think the change (without ploughing through my books & brochures) to a numerical name came about in 1984?

Offenders; those are also (in my eyes, unless proven to predate legal changes) the 'coil-sprung/V8/disc-braked/5-speed 'box 2A' etc... then registered as that 1960's vehicle, when the only original feature is probably the chassis-number duplicated onto the 'new' chassis

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

On Thursday I spotted a car transporter heading north on the A1 in County Durham, loaded up with brand new Ineos Grenadiers, the 4x4's not stagiere cyclists, looks like they're starting to become available to buy now

I spotted a Grenadier on the M1 on my way back up north last week. It will be interesting to see what the uptake is like.

Series 3 Station Wagon

They weren’t together, as they approached from different directions, & went in opposing directions
It was a 6-cylinder, & sounded very nice indeed
I have friend with the 6 cylinder (2.6, from the cars), but his is the One-Ton, with lower gearing, & on 9.00 tyres

EDIT @ 15:56

Dans One-Ton, & my old 110Td5
He still has it, plus a 110Tdci 'Utility Wagon'
My 110 went in March 2010

I found this copy of ‘LRM’ in the caravan, this afternoon
Co-incidentally, that 110 would be incredible for towing, with that torque figure, & fairly stable, with that wheelbase (but the overhang isn’t great!)

As you can guess., it’s not got a LR engine, it’s a Cummins (5.9) from the mid-90s Dodge Ram pickups….. slightly modified!

It’s not got a standard rear axle either, a Dana is used instead
I think it’s 2wd?

And yes!!
The 101FCs are utterly glorious
