Aye, it can be a tad expensive. However I have run out of things to buy at the moment as I have everything I need. I do browse the websites when I'm bored and I'm trying to resist the temptation to buy a road bike.

Even if it costs the same a running a car (it doesn't by the way) the improvement in health etc. is well worth keeping with the bike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice.
I wonder how 3300bhp translates to pedal power?
Could you cycle around the deck?

Deck is 960 m2. So yes, easily.

Power quoted is actually wrong. The 3300BHP is for one engine, it has 2 of them as it's twin propellers.

Fuel consumption is averages around 12000 ltrs per day of diesel. (twelve thousand - to confirm I didn't make a typo).

1 BHP = 746 Watts, say 200 W = 1 cyclist
I make it 24618 cyclists :becool:
Fully loaded with cargo it weighs around 6500 tonnes

But my boat/engines are teeny in the marine world
this is a big engine

Maybe someone should have a sponsored bike powered ship.

I don't think I save anything. I seem to spend far too much on bike bits.

But at using the bike everyday allows me spend £45 a week less on petrol.

'cmon, it's only as expensive as you want it to be.

I modestly good bike is £300 and should go a decade or so.
2 sets of cycling gear from Aldi is what £30? Less if you just buy shorts and wear any other non-cotton sports shirt.
I reckon maybe 5 tubes and one set of tyres a year - £50
So really if you wanted to you could do it for £100-150 a year, less if you bought a second hand bike.

Probably AIS live, but its changed so you now have to register to use it. Theres also http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/ but doesn't seem to show anything where the boat is working at the moment - around Stavanger, Norway

It's http://www.shipais.com/index.php I have bookmarked, but it only seems to show stuff when round the UK at the mo... You'll have to let us know next time you're here, so we can wave at you....

No - as I am now having to buy smaller clothes
And I can also get in trousers from 'the back of the wardrobe' that I thought deep down would never touch me again, but kept anyway as 'I can try to slim into them'. I can't be the only one that's ever thought that.

I'm wearing mine   ...down from 36" to 34" in 6 months - I love cycling

It is a pain for us males who don't like shopping to buy new clothes though...

I've also had to buy a shed load on new clothes - although the old T-shirts make great rags for wiping oil off the bike etc.... got a load of them now !!!
