I had agreed with M not to spend money on tacky gifts for each other but to spend the money on a long weekend away together getting pampered. Much nicer then the same old variations on the same old stuff that wouldn't go with existing colours etc. Was still making her a nice jewellery box tho.

Making?Im thinking you have the skills as well as the tools?Any chance we can see some of your work?

Here is the sort of thing I do when clients can afford it.
The Table is called 'Hidden Feeling' and the chair is called 'Chair In Flight'.
There is also a lamp and box to show some of my smaller work.

Well I am going to be a party pooper and say no to a hat as I do not know how to do them!
;)

But if some one in the know can do it for me I will be happy to change it:evil:

I wasnt sure myself, but i put my pic into elements and eventually worked out the colouring tools and then saved the pic then changed it in the forum again.

Yep, got my own workshop and I teach college students fine furniture design and making for 2 days a week too. I don't get to make very much at the moment as it is a bit on the costly side. Everything is hand made with very little machine work. The chair would take about 6-8 weeks of full time work shop time to make with a delivery period of about 3-4 months.
I generally end up making presents and gift items like little boxes and small cabinets.

That sounds like a great job,id loved to have done an aprenticeship when i left school working with wood, but alas they stopped them at the time, and family and work means i didnt have the time or energy or even the costs to take any courses. But your stuff is impressive, any other pics? because your link doesnt work.
