Apparently, Ford are going to be releasing an all EV version of their classic Capri. I did drive a gutless 1300 Capri in the mid eighties, but I'm sure there'll be not a few lads and lasses of a certain age who will be checking their bank balances in anticipation - !

The Capri name lives on as a new EV crossover. That's about it. It'll bear as much resemblance to the original as the Mustang Mach E does to its earlier namesake.

My Capri came with an interior, but if you wanted a tart you had to find your own.

I learnt to drive and passed my test in a gutless 1300 Capri in the early 80s

To be fair, the reincarnated version was as sheet as the original.

I have fond memories of lighting my farts in my friends Viva HC and scorching the horrible light blue vinyl seat.

I still think Vauhall missed a trick with the Nova, the hot hatch version should have been the SuperNova
