Did you have to use the drill 😬

Yes. And know this - drilling into my minty fresh £57,000 van was a heart-stopping experience!

Measure twice cut once? I measured about 150 times over the course of a week!

My problem with drilling is that I tend to measure twice and get a different result each time
so I measure again and then wonder wether I have 2 wrong measures or not

so I try again and generally end up with 2 of each

basically I should not be let loose with a drill or saw with anything that needs precision
which is probably why my woodwork teacher at school generally just ignored me most lessons!

Back off again this weekend - last minute booked Shell Island (again) for two nights - just the two of us. Different plot sussed, so we're going right near the sea. May take the paddleboard. Original plan was a night at Llyn Padarn, but weather looks smashing for the sunsets.

Going minimal stuff as much as possible. This time rear 3 seats will remain in the car, and I'll take out the two individual seats and the table.

Loving the name 'Dotty' @Drago

MrsF wants to call ours "Van Diesel" !

I've said it's called 'The Van'. Might call is 'Thunder Bus' because it just rumbles along.

Called mine Dotty after my MiL. She's now sadly deceased, but when she was ill she told us just to go and buy the camper and stop putting it off as life is too short. She was right.

Off to Beeston Regis tomorrow, North Norfolk coast on the edge of Sheringham. Lovely view of the sea from our camping spot. Bruce is looking forward to it.

Well if you pick the right (or wrong depending on your POV) part of Shell Island, "minimal" means you don't even need clothes

Braver than me (drilling it)

We have friends with a swamper look T6, massive roof basket, and the wheel up top with a ladder on the back. Shame it's only got a big air bed in the back. We've a mix - the couple in the T4 last week just had futons, but the van was lined. The other Vivaro (previous model) is a partial conversion for a chap and his dog.

We had some £80k-£100k Crafters near us too.
