yep I noticed that - though not a govt measure of course - only on ruddles - which i find a tad insipid/weak but it's a perfectly decent pint and I am old enough to remember when, amidst so much fizzy crappery, it was rather celebrated. I was going to post it in the thread i started on beer as fuel. A good cycling beer - not too strong.99p a pint in Wetherspoons!! 🍻

It's all anybody can do, the media will work out where the population will be worse or better off, we just suck it up & move onI must admit to not even looking at the budget news until at least the next day when at least some less knee-jerk reactions are available from Left or Right.
The results will happen, and affect me or not, whether I read them today, tomorrow, or never.
I do drink, but 99% of my consumption is at home, not in a public house. Conspiracy theory wise, i'd say the government is/are making beer cheaper to attract more customers into pubs. More customers means more interaction. More social interaction means more "pubs are spreading Covid"! Which will end in ANOTHER lockdown!!! Another lockdown means more NWO totalitarianism!!!!!!!!!🧐you have a conspiracy theory on that accy?

Some good stuff around working tax credits though.

Have I missed something about Working Tax Credit?
NWO, I think refers to New World Order- You will own nothing and you will be happy, some people think we are being dragged into this, but not a subject for here at all.NWO?
Drinking at home strikes me as a bad idea if done more than minimally accy for all sorts of reasons.
Don't take personally but I get the feeling you aren't mega fussy about your beer - I'd get out for a November social fest for 99p a go.

Agreed!! I was having a bit of banter, not being serious!!NWO, I think refers to New World Order- You will own nothing and you will be happy, some people think we are being dragged into this, but not a subject for here at all.
thanks - but no problem - i don't think accy was being serious. panic over.NWO, I think refers to New World Order- You will own nothing and you will be happy, some people think we are being dragged into this, but not a subject for here at all.
ruddles is perfectly decent. i wouldn't go out of my way for it - but i have defaulted to it (or guinness) a few times when nothing else was on that was to my taste. If it's like gnats pee as you indicate, it could be 50p a pint, but i won't be buying it!! The Broadway in Accy sells cheap beer and it's always busy.🧐
I don't go in the place. I just peer through the windows.dare I ask what you drink in there
