I buy Solo Autocycle in a .75l tin, but then I clean my car with it. It's excellent stuff.
Meguiars Metal Polish is even better, but lots more dosh.

Clean your car? As in exhaust tips & chrome parts. Not the whole body work.

Obviously not the whole car. That's just silly.
You can't clean tyres, or seats, or the dash with metal polish.

If there's any light rust use aluminium foil and water, it works because the aluminium takes the oxygen out of the rust and the Al. oxide formed is a mild abrasive. If it is in good condition use nothing stronger than soap and water. Then dry it and apply a very thin coat of light oil. Metal polish will eventually destroy the chrome.

Continual use of Polish on ANY surface will eventually destroy the finish. Polish is abrasive at the end of the day. It's how it works.
People misuse the word these days. When they say they have polished their bike/car, they have actually waxed it most of the time.
