The climbing scene is indeed an impressive shot highlighting the poetic movement and gracefulness of a feline in the prime of his life.

Yeah; the way the branches bent under his weight was truly poetic.

i do wonder what lives in the ditch worth studying

The ditch is a snapshot of evolution since the primordial soup. It is where we are. The pyramid of life: from the organisms of immense ugliness (under the microscope) to the beauty in the song from the feathered residing in the fauna above and high in the sky, the monotone screech of the buzzard circling ominously. It is the transit point, a crossing for pheasants and peasants, foxes, badgers, dear, rabbit and hares alike.
Of course, none of that matters to Beans - there are rodents that come and go...

Beans the magnificent!

Brought me a rat in the night time. I pictured rat next to an article about one of Donald's mates (sorry rat). Say 'well done Beans'.

He's now full of nibbles and bereft of inhibitions.

Excellent work Beans.

It is indeed. I'll be fuming if he isn't on the new years honours list.

...and now, the moment you have all been wating for: episode 2 of the Beans walk jolly adventure in pictures: like the last scene of the Lone Ranger as he hangs off a cliff, like wondering who shot JR, like when that bloke in Brookie got buried under the patio - nail biting, insomnia inducing tension. of... what happens next?

So without further ado (and in respect of some older tickers), we have Beans. Beans the magnificent psyching himself and poised, like a blood hound champing at the bit (?!) ahead of the great marshland crossing. Caught by the wildlife cam cunningly disguised as a wash basket, next to the watering hole. (pond water tastes much better than tap water):

Beans watering hole.jpeg

A momentary pause at the edge of the Marshland. After a good claw pull on the giant 15ft ornamental fir tree. What concerns me, is that is the direction of the farm is the territory off a rather beaten up moggy called Edwina. Beans is showing too much interest for this particular female after chasing the stunning, petite, long haired Sally off. Unlike, Edwina (the cat from mangled worm ridden land), Sally has grace and elegance ,a sheen to her coat, a rather fetching trill and hair all over her svelte body.

But that's just a distraction as there was only one destination for Beans. Hard to keep up with his sheer pace and undaunted enthusiasm.

Finally, the ditch worth studying. A fitting end to this instalment of the Beans walk jolly adventure in pictures. And this, is where I left him.

Spot the Beans competition! (spring 2025)

Beans marks the spot. Notice I didn't make him massive to avoid cheating.

Order of drinking preference for cats that I have observed: puddle water > pond water > bird bath water > bowl of tap water

To the extent that they will walk past a bowl to go drink from a bird bath or puddle.

Not surprising really given what we put in water and their sensitive noses.
I've heard it many times when Mr or Mr Smith had a cat that ran away. "Oh I gave him/her a lovely bed and a scratch post and cat nip toys and treats and nibbles and..." At no time did the Smiths think that the plug in air freshener or the over zealous use of bleach or the aerosol deodorant/Cologne or the shake n vac (safe for pets?!) had any impact whatsoever when the cat moved to some smelly old house where the bag lady lives.
