Sooo

We all know I have had a clicky BB for a while and that Im gonna stick it in the shop soon, but yeserday I washed it, lubed it and make it sparkle (Toothbrush style)

I went out for about 10 miles, NO CLICKING , Hurrah , I thought .......but this morning, its returned again.

Arghhhh

Do we think the BB needs to be stripped and lubed ?

clicking noise could be lots of things, eg a cracked crank arm, pedal, are you sure it's the bb? is there play in the bb? does it rotate freely?

Lots of potential - BB bearings may not be pre-loaded right (for press fit BB30) or cartridge/external bearing (square taper/Isis or Hollowtech) not fitted tight. There could be an issue of a worn bearing - unlikely on a new bike.

Have you removed the chain rings, greased the bolts and re-fitted ? Could be a loose chain ring bolt.

Then there is loose pedals, or play in a pedal bearing. Also check not bars/stem.

I've got clicky bars/stem on my fixed at the moment, and it sometimes takes some tracking down - positive it's the stem/steerer interface and carbon spacers - going to strip and re-grease tonight - did the bar/stem interface last night) - comes back every 6 months or so...flaming ahead sets.

Ah, only your right foot causing the problem ... that happened to me once and it took me ages to spot it. Eventually I noticed that my right heel was catching on the end of the front gear cable and flicking it once per pedal rev. The answer was to simply bend the cable end out of range of my heel.

The problem I mentioned above came and went according to which chainring I was on because the end of the cable moved back and forth when operating the front mech.

Fair enough mate - just don't ever accuse mr of using anything other than the big ring again :-) lol
I was on a cycling training camp on the Costa Blanca once and top Scottish ex-pro Robert Millar was there with a stack of top bikes and wheels to test for one of the big cycling magazines.

He used to ride along with us as we warmed up along the coast road on our ride out from the hotel. I watched how he was riding and I'm fairly sure that he never left the big ring.

We'd be at the bottom of a draggy climb and he'd be chatting to someone at the back of the group, then he'd get out of the saddle and sprint 50 yards to chat to someone else further up the road. He just made it look so effortless!

Could be the spd axle or indeed a worn cleat. Give the pedal a wiggle, if you can feel if wobble, it's either a loose pedal or you might need to tighten the bearings - it's dead easy - depends on pedal - I simply undo the lock ring on my XT's and slide the pedal off, grease up and refit. don't even take the axle off the crank.

How long have you had the cleats. I wear my left one out in 12 months, from all the stop start. I say wear out, they start coming un-clipped on acceleration and it's a bit odd bobbing up and down on a fixed with one leg clipped in at speed.
