Had a 7 hour long ride yesterday (5sh on the move), just going where I felt like without a route in mind. Warm out of the wind - icey in it - and didn't really pay much attention to my total ascent after I got to 1,000 metres, so the final figure was a bit of surprise because the last 10 miles (to get to 50 miles) or so was more or less downhill in my mind. Stupidly chuffed to find I finished with a total of 1,463 metres. Neck and shoulders a bit stiff this morning and hip and knees moaning a bit too. Hoping to get out for a short local (and flat) ride this arvo.
