There's an avatar on here that come's close to him.

"Everyone knows that calf’s blood is what you put on your eggs in the morning, along with a sprinkling of nails and cement chips to toughen you up for the day’s training. Which is why you put it on your eggs, and maybe a splash in the blender when you’re whipping up your first breakfast batch of bloody Mary’s."

Well spotted, I missed that.

Crazy old stuff. I admit, I don't have a handle on that mentality. I find it hard to take myself seriously, let alone other people who need a stick through their spokes rather than Kudos.
Same with me - I just don't see the point. You'd have to have a pretty fragile ego to feel the need to cheat on Strava.

Name, occupation, address, telephone numbers & e-mail address for Thorfinn-Saasquatch. Anyone want to guess at what he claims his job is?

Falling back onto the OP, mechanical doping is also mentioned. Does this mean electric assist are in the same bracket?

Perhaps if people just enjoyed riding rather than using it as a cock waving exercise, or went back to playing golf then we wouldn't have this stupidity.
On the other hand, we could all get on with our own business altogether. Other amateurs taking EPO or mechanically doping only effects you if you let it. I'm very happy to let other cyclists willy wave. There is no reason it should affect my riding.

OK, I do sniff disparagingly at them, but then let them get on with it.

Cheating in competition aside, I had to laugh at this guy in the Guardian article -

A man in his 40s called Graham was cycling up a mountain in Mallorca this spring when he heard a strange whirring noise. It became immediately clear what it was when another rider breezed past, apparently without much effort. She had a tiny, performance-enhancing motor hidden in the frame of her bike. “I was livid!” Graham recalls. “She might as well have been riding a moped.”

He was livid! WTF did it have to do with him that another rider was using motor assist? They weren't racing. I'd love to do it to him myself, only this time with my feet on the handlebars and a cigarette in my mouth.

Funny you should say that, a mate used to do the club runs on a Sunday morning at our CC and every time someone caught a puncture, he'd light up a ciggy much to the shock of a few of the pseudo-racers. Then proceeded to wipe the floor with most of the group on the town sprint on a battered old Cannondale he bought for £75. Genius.

I'm not on there, but isn't the only person you're cheating, when your secret gets out, yourself?
I'm not on Stava either, but the same should really be true of any form of cheating but you can at least follow the logic if there's some tangible reward. Cheating just to feel superior really smacks of a loss of perspective. On the quiet I take my riding quite seriously, but only for my own interest and satisfaction.
