Often do Parkrun Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham. Consistently annoyingly above 22 mins every week. Usually less than 10s above, but above nonetheless.

Not done it for a month or two, though.

Oooo you'll feel the burn when you go back. It amazes me how quickly I lose running fitness, I don't seem to lose bike fitness anywhere near as quickly. I'm convinced my running parts have zero muscle memory.

Had serious DOMS once after taking just over a month off. Worst I've ever had, and proper too. Felt fine on the day, but seriously stiff and achey legs on the Sunday.
Funny thing was that my ride in on Monday, when every step up was painful, wasn't affected at all.

This morning's PR was certainly a warm one. Not complaining though as the:sun:was shining and it was a lovely morning:wahhey:

According to MapMyRun my time was 28:55 over 3.04 miles with an av.speed of 6.3mph:heat: Not bad though for someone who is "most like someone from Tonga"

I'll never worry the Olympians but I don't care either. I enjoy it and I'm zoning in on my PB of 27:59

I've enjoyed the couple of PR I've been on. Nice friendly atmosphere and it seems easier for me to run with others.
Didn't manage this morning due to the bike! (bit of repair work needed to get it rideable so I could make the Aberdeen PR start). Have been out for a 5k this afternnon though.
Indeed, completing a PR was a goal when I started the couch to 5k program. Doing it in under 30mins is the next, along with not using a lady 20 years my senior (60-65 group) as a pacemaker.

I must have frozen, physically and mentally, for 45 seconds on my last parkrun. That would be the only rational explanation for my poor time. A minute slower than my pb, and 45s slower than my best after they re-measured the course and found it to be too short....

Our PR starts and ends on a running track, however, occasionally the track is not available to us due to other commitments.

On those days an alternate course is used. Now the regular course involves two ascents of 'heart attack hill', the alternate course involves 3!

We're using the alternate course this week.

I've selflessly decided this week will be one of my marshalling weeks!

I'm all about giving back I am

I ran parkrun like 6-7 times......... then I got knocked off my bike and was injured for a while so I started volunteering, still there 90+ events on as the current event director for South Manchester parkrun, lol! Now the only time I get to run it is the night before or early in the morning before the ectual event to check for safety hazards.

Glad you enjoy your local event smokeysmoo

Our route is nice and flat (quite a few people come fishing for personal bests, my personal best was 21:37 or something in that range, give or take 2-3 seconds), but it does have some "water features" on the short (sub-1km) trail section, had a couple of people end up falling into a 2-3 foot deep drainage trench because they deviated from the main course trying to avoid the puddles  We told them to man up and run through the puddles but some people are allergic to dirt!
