Just made it ...

Nice ride out today in the February sunshine 🌞

Headed north from Bristol to Wotton - under - Edge a very nice Cotswold town with plenty of cafes.

Stopped at The Edge for a coffee and to meet a cycling mate who lives nearby, then headed back via Chipping Sodbury to meet my old man in The Beaufort Hunt for a beer.

@kapelmuur ,I've just realised that you potentially finished a ride 1.1km short of a 50km today 🫨 the early one we can let go but I do hope you rounded this one up

Puzzle game procrastinator!
I didn't get to sleep until 04:30 today but I had to get up at 08:00 to go for a blood test so I am tired before even going near a bike!

Still... It is a beautiful sunny day here and I haven't got my February '50' in yet so I'll have a snack and a mug of tea, then hit the hills.

I will probably doze off as soon as I get back!
Er, I dozed off BEFORE going for the ride!!

Fortunately, I woke up again in time to do my ride in sunshine.

I had intended to do a certain lumpy route but changed my mind because I fancied seeing what time I could manage on the Cragg Vale climb, given that it was sunny and wind conditions were more favourable than the last time I did it. Job done!

PS And I DID doze off again after the ride!

5.55am start with big ambitions and a cool end destination. Hampered by my riding bud turning up late. Then announcing his Di2 lever battery has run out. Still, at least this gave us a chance to see how foggy it was. And feel how cold it was while we chased between various shops and garages looking for a CR2032 penny battery. Which actually ended up with a trip back to my house to obtain one. And a grossly shortened ride as he had a timescale to get back by…….

Meet point at Lowestoft lighthouse:

One of many stops looking for a battery:

Church / stop for calories at Kessingland:

Under the dual carriageway via the tunnel:

And home right along the sea defences at East Point (UK’s most Easterly point):

50km of foggy but ultimately enjoyable fun 😁

Well done @sevenfourate first poster as expected 😁 ,as I read this I'm just beginning to think about getting ready for a ride . Does your ride partner run a 1 bye system if not the easy fix is too swap batteries in the shifters and lose the big ring/ little ring shift

30Kms in. Coffee and toast in Milnthorpe. Chilly start at 09.00, now a tropical 4°C. Should be back in Sunny Grange mid afternoon👍

March banker ride done in glorious 🌞 sunshine still a bit nippy but certainly felt nice out , Did a variation of my Upton Loop going clockwise to explore some unriden lanes

Sunshine was predicted for (And now actually is) ….Mid Morning here. And it’s glorious ☀️ When I left early this Morning my Strava weather app says “-2 feels like -4”. It felt every bit of that too. Not wonderful at all……

Nice to hear you benefitted from NOT jumping the gun and having some patience unlike some…🙄 😁

I have just booked 31.6 as that is what my non-smart head unit said.. but Strava had me at over 33 mainly due to a bit of a wobbly. When I stopped to tighten my saddle (cos it was creaking) Strava on my phone in pocket had me wizzing around a few triangular off road bits. 😂😂 I usually have a slight difference cos my head unit works via wheel magnet and Strava from GPS and I assume that it assumes a certain road position for you that may or may not be true hence slight differences.

Anyway a chilly but nice day...and I stopped to help someone with a puncture and donated an inner tube plus a use of my pump so I am expecting the Premium Bonds gods to repay me .

As long as it's over 31.07 it doesn't matter which reading you choose 👍. Good on you on helping out a fellow rider karma will pay you back
