The fact that I managed to rot a turbo trainer in one winter probably gives you an idea of how much sweat was involved ... I was pretty much redlining at the end of the session, before an easy 10 minute spin to warm down - heart rate 190+ bpm and unable to walk properly afterwards. Definitely not recommended if you have health problems!

The room had single glazing, it was unheated and it was a cold winter so I'd say the temperature in there was about 1-2 degrees. I'd start off with about 4 layers on but when I really got going, I was stripped to the waist with a fan blowing at me from close range and I still couldn't really keep cool. In one hard session, I drank over a litre of water but still ended up losing 2 kgs in just over and hours so that implies bucketing at least 3 litres of sweat!

Ebay is fantastic for putting buyers and sellers in touch; I will never forget selling my old motorcycle jacket (scuffed and covered in dead flies) to a collector in Tokyo for exactly the same money I paid for it 28 years before!
I have a mate from the Midlands who did the same with his jacket; the Japanese must have a thing for tatty old leather jackets!

At one point my pal was importing exhaust systems for big motorbikes at 1/3 of the price they were in the UK and flogging them on eBay for 2/3. He made a good profit, and the buyers were also happy to get them 1/3 off the normal UK price, but eventually lots of people got into his niche and the profits dried up.
