They were carrying brollys as well.
I noticed the Americans all turned up doing Frank Spencer impressions, that was weird.

The Czech's probably looked up "Glastonbury Tor" on Wikipedia and found many references to wellies and mudDoes anyone know why the Czech athletes were wearing uniform wellies?

i didnt "get it" at first. the sheep, the hill,cricket, football, morris dancers, sufferagettes. My initial thoughts were "what the Fxxx". but once i realised that this was a celebration of Britishness and Britains achievements I was enthralled. Superb and i congratulate everybody involved in the concept and production. Well done.

We've been thinking about that. At first we assumed they were telescopic, but that doesn't appear to work for all of them, and the sides must have been very thin, because there wasn't much noticeable taper. NT wondered if they were actually printed fabric tubes. Whatever they were, they were pulled up on wires.
