did 35 miles today, and the sun was high and hot before too long.

So glad we started early, and it was a perfect day for it. I am a wee bit pink tinged, but my sunblock protected me from the worst.

I went out with the club round the Forth today, I lathered on Suncream but I'm glad we left at 9 ish too :becool:

I left for my ride at just after 9 as well, I was planning on doing a long 100 miler leaving at 5:30 but overslept AGAIN! I ended up doing a 56 mile run over 3 1/2 hours to Malpas, Bangor on Dee and back through W'church and Wrenbury. No suncream at all and my tan lines from the jersey, shorts and gloves are getting even stronger!

An early morning start (before 0700 hrs) is good in the summer for having a cool temperature and also less traffic on most of the roads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What are you going to do when you hit 10stone 3.5. Presumably if you continue as you are and your distance will also increase accordingly your weight will continue to fall . If you reach your ideal weight and dont want to lose any more weight you will just have to eat more - happy days.
Im kinda where you were a year ago hence my curiosity.
Impressive + well done btw.

Thanks Apollo, it's not all bike related as I have been going to Scottish Slimmers too - my ideal weight is just 3.5 lbs away!

Hlab, we may have passed you yesterday - were you a fast moving group heading west alongthe north side of the Forth? If so the guy I was cycling with shouted hello to one of your members just outside of Kincardine!

I only managed a wee 10-mile run yesterday morning at 9am (1st ride after coming back from holiday) which was lovely in this weather. I had planned on going up to Loch Katrine today, but can't go until after lunch, and after a couple of hours in the garden yesterday the thought of being out in the hot sun for a couple of hours this afternoon is making me feel ill. I'm a true Scot, can't deal with all this heat & sun

What sort of temperatures are you all riding in?

I didn't cycle this morning, but OH came back saying it was cool and fresh (but sunny) and she got a bit chilly and wished she'd worn long sleeves. It was 23C! I don't know how she'll ever manage in the winter.

In that photo above the bloke taking the pic looked at his bike computer, it was 28deg, round the corner in the shade it fell a few deg and rose again to 29C :-) The met recorded near by 20-23deg C.

By the afternoon my husband's car thermometer was reading 33 degrees. I would say between 25 and 30 throughout the day would be nearer.

Hlab, Tom's friend's runs a bike shop in Cairneyhill, that's who he was waving to.

I took know pics of us out on the run, but I was on a white Trek.

Nice. I like those kind of temperatures, as long as I have plenty to drink. If you run out of water, it can get really bad very quickly, though.

Its a small world, the bloke who took the pic is the son or son in law (I can never remeber) of the bloke who owns the shop, he runs the shop :-)
