My chain has been mickled since it was born: even during the winter months I had the cleanest chain in commuting history. Religiously on every day off (after 5/6 days of 10 miles commute) I clean my chain with the Mickle method. More often in the wet
But since I've been using this TF2 lubricant the lbs told me is best, my chain is always dry after a couple of days, even in dry weather. Should I skip the last lube wiping (after the chain is clean), or is the product rubbish?
Cheers for the excellent tips!

I tried TF2 recently for the first time too. I had the same experience. Gone back to Finish Line.

Sorry but I use only proprietary 'Mickle Brand' fair-trade, organic, wholemeal, free-range, cruelty-free, ethically extracted, natural, Eco-lube (with jojoba) which is delivered by sailing ship from the pristine rainforests of Nicaragua. By virgins. Which I wipe off with organic egyptian cotton hankerchiefs.

I don't bloody well know.

Do not question The Method.

Do not deviate from The Method.

If something you are doing does not agree with The Method, then it is wrong for The Method never is.

The punishment for questioning The Method includes (but is not limited to) being pump-whipped, poked with a red-hot spoke and using Anne Widecombe's date-night knickers to WIPE DOWN YOUR CHAIN.

Please forward your address so that this can be arranged.

Just to clarify, I wipe the chain lube off with the Egyptian cotton 'kerchiefs, not the delivery virgins.

Aheeem, I did not deviate or question THE METHOD, I think is pure brilliant, fits with my "clean as you go" policy we are drummed in in my job, but it says on Mick's page "proprietary bike lube", what's a girl to do if the lbs says "that's the one"?
I will promptly go buy a different one :headshake:

TF2 do two types -a wet lube (bottle with snout) and a dry lube (spray).

I much prefer the wet lube. One application gets me through a whole week of commuting - 120 miles. The dry lube needs daily application and is rather wasteful in application.

YES! Cheers for that, it's the dry one I was told to use by the lbs .... Amazon, here I come for the snout bottle version, 'cause can't be lubing every day, I'll have no time left to polish the saddle :hyper:

Caution: if a clean chain means a lot to you, you might not like the wet lube. The chains looks black after Monday's commute, but it's ridiculously silent and smooth.
