Have you got a physiotherapy programme? Spend some time and money with a good sports physio, if not before the steroid after.

I am seeing the chiropractor again in April so I might ask if he can do anything, failing that I'll badger my Dr for some NHS physio, and failing that fork out for some private physio.

I'd personally get on the physio ASAP instead of paying for a chiropractor. Acupuncture can be useful, also therapeutic ultrasound and deep tissue message of the angry forearm muscles

I assume your bike set up is spot on in terms of reach, handlebar width, seat height? Elbows not locked and plenty of hand positions, with bar ends or drops

I have the seat height adjusted so its kind to my knees, I am able to vary hand position frequently thanks to bar ends, unless using my MTB, but must get out of the habit of locking my arms straight.

If you lock your arms, maybe your reach is too much. This could be causing / exacerbating the TE. Look at stem length, angle

Yeah, really do. As I say mine all came from being overstretched on the bike. Get it sorted even take a rest from the bike. Suspension on an MTB may be the way to go for a while until it clears. The TE strap recommendation is also a good one, wear constantly when not in bed

I had it in both elbows a year or so ago. Sympathies.
I used this support the short one shown and a slightly longer version when driving travelling (lifting trolley cases into aircraft lockers on a regular basis). I also used them on the bike and eventually the pain faded away and it's not returned.
