Firstly apologies for another "bibs" thread but after a search there wasn't much up to date info.
since the bibshorts are currently only £13 delivered and as I only have 1 pair of muddy fox I was wondering what the quality and fit is like ?
Can't be any worse than the MF ones as they are pretty poor imo. So for the money I might try a pair for next spring/summer

the tenn lazer bib tights are £29.
I have 3 pairs of aldi/lidl bib tights which are fine exept maybe a medium rather than large would be a better fit since I've lost 2 stone.

from what I have read, tenn come up quite small in sizing. I am 5' 10" , 13 stone 12 llb and 34 waist levi's lol . I might wait till next year to get longs in the spring/summer sale.

I have a pair of Tenn tights (not bibshorts), and they are a touch tight. Might be worthwhile going up a size.

I've got a standard and also a Roubaix pair of bib longs from Tenn. I've always needed the size larger than the one suggested by their sizing chart. I think they do free returns so it isn't a big deal if you get it wrong. You might want to check that BTW.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I have tenn padded shorts. I think the fit is quite good. I like tenn gear. Its not too expensive, and is well made.

I would say they are no real upgrade to Muddy Fox. I have a cupboard full of cheap bibs that only get used on the Turbo Trainer because they are so poor, the Tenns included.

I use Tenn stuff.
I find I need the next size up. Like others have said, they are fine for rides of a couple of hours, any more than that and I find them no better than MF stuff. I do like their MTB shorts though!

Thanks all. I only do the odd 2 hour ride.
and half hour commute.
I have wondered about quality as regards to more expensive gear and whether it is worth the money since I only ride up to around 30 mile tops.
The muddyfox shorts although extremely cheap at around £7 have an awful one piece sponge pad, are the largest size they had at xl or 2xl yet are tight and the straps dig in a bit.
but I bought them to try out bibs was converted straight away.
All the aldi/lidl shorts , longs and bib longs I own have a far better pad than the MF imho.

for £14 I will try a pair and at the least they will do for the commute will also look at dhb as suggested..

I may even splash out on some expensive gear in the new year.
knowing my luck I will then have my first "off" and rip them

thanks for the replies.

what do you prefer ?

I have a pair of Tenn bib shorts. They are ok but I'd suggest keeping an eye on something like DHB shorts in the sale at Wiggle. Especially if you're buying for next year and there's no rush

I haven't seen a bad word said about dhb tbh and I'm looking at the aeron race ones but just wondering what size to order ??

You mentioned dhb stuff, I must admit I cant fault it, I bought a pair of bib roubaix 3/4 last year as they were cheapish and I was penny pinching at the time, but found their gear good and have bought more dhb gear since, I like it and its not so much of a crying game on the side of the road if you come off and rip it.......one thing I've found though is that I need to get a size down from the size chart, but I'm a short arse so It may be just that......:cuppa:

I have bibs / shorts / tights from Planex X, DHB and Decathlon which are all in the same price range and mostly picked up on sale. All seem pretty good but in order of preference / comfort I go for Planet X, Decathlon then DHB.
