Tossed a coin between using

a) T'internet or a LBS (but 35 miles away)

xx( Focus Cayo or 09 Orbea Onix in white.

Went to LBS and fell in love with the Orbea, gave the credit card a good hammering and she's being built over the weekend for collection Mon am.

14 month old Carrera Virtuoso with 1500 miles on the clock is now getting mudguards and lights fitted this weekend!

Any Onix owners out there tell me I wont regret it And I've picked the right one!?

Dont know much about the bike but I think you did the right thing buying from an LBS.

Good luck and wishing you thousands of happy miles on it.

cheers Banjo - all the best mate, LBS were very welcoming, open and honest and gently steered me away from a Scott CR1 that patently didnt fit me!!

Mr Magoo, you're starting to worry me now...

Definitely done the right thing. You tried it and liked it which you can't do over the internet.
It's also a cool brand and lots of envious admiring looks will follow from the cognoscenti:tongue:

cheers TBMc

the LBS experience was a big influence, they didnt try to flog me any old thing, or the wrong sized thing, gave advice freely, I'm really glad I did it.

The fact that the bike was drop dead gorgeous with a lifetime frame guarantee had a bit to do with it as well.

You shopped somewhere that patently had your best interests at heart. They helped you avoid a bike that didnt fit and let you try the one thats right for you. As we speak it is being assembled with love and care by someone with years of experience.

Should your bike go wrong you will be able to take it back and the same people will sort it out for you. They will have a general interest in you and your bike for years to come probably.

Oh and you bought a realy cool bike.

So let me ask you; Did you do the right thing?

Yeah Andy, 24hrs on I,m really comfortable with the choice I made. Cheers to you, Randochap and all the guys for the feedback.

ps it would be good to also see Focus bikes in LBS's in the future - they look really good value for money

It's a very nice bike LR, and I'm another who advocates supporting the LBS when ever possible. If your LBS is like most of the ones I've used over the years it could also be a good place to go for a chat with other cyclists, even if you're not actually looking to buy anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
