That was some effort :notworthy: I wonder if he had a slightly different gearing to keep his cadence just a tad higher, he would be faster in the latter stages. ?

He still had energy to call his number:bravo:
2.40 mins
I bet that would be bkool 600W

I'll have go when I get back from Tenerife,
Bob, Breedon Neo users should too

That is just bonkers and hugely impressive. He sounds near death at the end!
Andy,
if it's the guy I have read about he rides a weight weenie single speed that weighs 4.7 kilos and there is nothing to him but skin, bone, leg muscle and the heart and lungs of a lion I love his "thank you" at the start^_^

And no I don't think I will try it "thank you" !

Swimming is a step too far even for me

Glad to hear it!

There is jokey talk of zombiefying the runners on Zwift to make the cyclists pedal faster:laugh:

I saw this posted on Facebook, and wondered how many of you had seen it? I thought the real world watts (and bpm) would be an interesting comparison with some of the power monsters on here. I suspect his heart rate would hospitalize a good many of us!

Not sure, but I think this is the course on Bkool, if anyone wants to compare watts?

Probably need a KICKR or NEO to appreciate the full gradient.

I'll be giving it a miss!

WoW - that is truly magnificent - That kind of thing could give me bad dreams.

Top man for recording the climb and output. :notworthy:

I know that feeling well. 14 hour day and too many plates to spin has led me to resign from my contract. With a disabled wife to look after, and the bike staring at me wondering what it's done to be ignored, something had to give. The job was the sacrifice - i need to lose weight anyway, so the less money I have the less chocolate and cake I can buy
Good luck to you, I know now that you won't be in team beige for much longer.

I'm even more happier as it means I won't have to wait until he gets home from work to go for a beige ride. By the time I finish work, Mrs Whortmiester ( Bingly Bong to her friends) will be sick of King Carl and will be helping him into his togs in anticipation of a little peace and quiet during the late afternoon.

You're right though @Marino.g, @Whorty will shoot up the red rankings..

I'm in a very similar situation to yourself Whorty. Main difference being the lack of plates to spin caused me to lose my contract at the end of last year. Unfortunately I'm in Oil & Gas (say no more!) therefore very quiet out there just now. I'm also enjoying spending time at home with my disabled wife (she has MS), however I'm surprised that I've spend no more time on the bike/turbo than I did when I was working, and I always promised myself that when I wasn't working my new job would be to ride the bike for at least 2 hours per day. The reality is I spend most of my spare time looking for work and learning new software, but it does make me realise how great it would be to retire and just do what I want all day, including not getting up until 9 or 10 each day:tired:.
My wife has MS too Bill so I understand what you're going through supporting her. My wife has moved to secondary progressive and the past 5 years gone from being able to walk a few hundred yards to now in a wheelchair. Absolutely heart breaking. she's a strong soul and gets on with life, but I hate not spending time with her and helping her enjoy life. This spring we'll get some time back

Good find Geoff. Reading the facebook comments he didn't even put up the fastest time

They have a similar event in Hastings but with the quirk that it's done on an old delivery bike and you have to sit on a newspaper I believe to prove that you haven't stood up during the climb. Completely mad but very Hastings.

There was one we did for a chaingang race around a year ago which was five hills / humps back to back. Probably wouldn't be much fun now with the dead stops but it was a good way of doing an interval session at the time.

Had a go at WC Stage 10 tonight. Tough course :heat:

I nearly bailed out because after battling up both the big hills I lost signal between the laptop and the trainer twice - think I lost about 3-4 minutes in total so unfortunately I will have to do it all over again :banghead:
