Thanks AAAC. That was my strongest ride for a while so at least you didn't have to wait so long for me this time. Sorry about the long wait near the end where I was in the wrong gear hitting that hill and my chain was just slipping round and refusing to engage any gear at all. Felt a lot stronger that Thursday for some reason.

What happened to you AAAC and Bill and TT? I was riding with you at the start, then dropped connection a couple of times. When I came back online the second time you were nowhere to be seen - I was showing in first place and there was a couple of ghosts (AAAC ghost plus another I can't remember) in second and third?

I am suspecting you were around but I just couldn't see you as I wasn't going that quick and would be really surprised if I was ahead of you all!

You disappeared and appeared a couple of ties Paul, but you had dropped back a bit. You were showing as being just a bit behind AAAC and myself on the timing board and I assumed you were fully joined in with the rest of us but just not quite at your usual blistering pace.

Actually in hindsight I'm quite glad I couldn't see you as I probably pushed a bit harder than I should have as it was, and I would probably have been tempted to try and stay with you if you'd been in my sights!

Somewhere between the 10 second countdown and the start I changed plans... I figured I'd just stay at the front until I ran out of steam then use the rest of the ride as a warm down. I got off the bike to open the window wider (sweating like a pig [no offence DP!]) which is when you came past. I think that not seeing people thing is always down to connection which makes sense as you kept dropping in and out.

Great ride all! I thought that course was a pretty good one.

Thanks for all the drafting at the start Tommy. You did a lot more than your share at the front. It was your manic pace that made me wonder what had happened to all the ghosts I had added and why they weren't in amongst us.

I think you'd have been more than tempted if you'd known you were only about 20 seconds back for much of the ride.

Yes definitely! Normally I'd be frustrated by that but going any faster than I did would not have been sensible right now!

Well in trying to get away from Whorty and randy Berlin and trying to stick close to berty basset I manged to knock off 1m 16s by the end I was feeling a bit xx( when DP went 'come on Breedon Jacobs watching' with 400 meters to go did a sprint finish :heat:.
Cooling down in the velodrome  berty and I had a quick tussle, all ways good fun.
I had nothing tonight for some reason. Within 5k i was struggling and as soon as we hit those first 4-5% hills I shot back 20-30 seconds. I don't know if it's a FW issue, or my style, but every time I get to 4-5% everyone flies past me. Get back on the flatter sections, or hillier sections, and I can stay with those around me, but those middle ascents I just lose so much time. Bizzare! Well don @Jim Brown , that was one mega ride you must have put in to get that time :notworthy: I may be able to knock of a minute or 2 off tonight's time, but no way I'll get anywhere near your time!

The first half I was mentally composing a complaint to the rules committee about new chain and new pedals. I was pushing as hard as I could to keep up with you. Breedon and Berty were just taunting me.At the end I tried a big push to gain on Rod but he finished really strong. On the plus side Bkool raised my heart rate zones. My new max is 193

I was hoping once you caught up with me I could jump on to your back wheel and cadge (new word for you) a lift, but you was too strong for me on that course :okay: I couldn't even hold your wheel enough to get a rest  Not my type of course, but at least it's out the way now
