@Daddy Pig .
Thanks for the EOS. Maybe it should be EOES (email of extra shame) when beat by double digits.

I tried to get some distance on the downhills and just managed to fend bill off on the last hill whilst @AAAC 76C disappeared in a cloud of virtual smoke about half way up to put on a minute on me!

I did stage 4 as well after a 10 minute rest... Bloody hell @BILL S is fast! I ran out of steam about 2km from the end.

Bill, can you OK my rides so they hit the league table?

Well here's my BSim Beta report. Summary for me is don't go anywhere near it!

Loaded the new Sim on to my MacBook. Opened it, looked different with different buttons for different trainer types, eg Tacx Neo, etc

Decided to set up a ride on Stouby-Sejet as a reference to see how the new Sim handled my Tacx Neo.

Having done that I experienced the first of a series of MacBook restarts. Decided to uninstall the Sim and the Install helper programme, following method recommended by Apple.

MacBook seemed to have recovered. Went out to garage and successfully completed a near 2 hour session on Zwift. (Hint: this is my recommendation for future cycling simulator activity)

Finished session, showered, sat down and opened MacBook which greeted me with a new series of restarts.

Spent the afternoon on the phone to Apple support, checking out the hardware and software versions. All ok. So I reinstalled MacOS, interestingly interrupted by one further restart.

Eventually, MacOS installation completed, allowing me to send an email and a support request to Bkool, to ask whether there are any other programmes I need to remove manually, in case Bkool leave any crap in the system after you uninstall the Beta Sim and the install helper.

I decided to try the Beta as I cancelled my Bkool subscription last week. Thought I might reactivate it if the new Sim worked successfully with the Neo.

Didn't expect the Beta to demolish my MacBook instead!

Waiting now to see whether the MacOS reinstall has fixed the restart problem, but far from confident about it.

Review of Bkool Sim Beta? 0 out of 10!!

Trying to decide on next weeks ride for the Goats league, and it's tough! I want to select something that reflects the toughness and dedication of my fellow countryman and first time tour winner, Super G!

We've done the Madeleine, Croix de fer, and the Tourmelet, logic tells me to stay in the Pyrenees coz that's where G stamped his authority all over the GC pretenders  and logically Col d’Aubisque via Col du Soulor would be the ride to pick ... but then there is the ride in the alps where he took Yellow ... and "It's Alpe d’Huez Mun!"

It's a tough decision

I'm not looking forward to restarting the Goats League. I'm about 5 rides behind now so must endeavour to catch up :bicycle:.

I'm 5 rides down as well, soon to be 6, as soon as I can make a decision. I've just lost all mojo for cycling, even IRL with the great weather. Attempting to do two of these climbs a week just doesn't fill me with joy

I feel your pain there Aleman. I haven't been on the bike for a week and just couldnt drum up the enthusiasm today despite the offer of 2 rides. I will throw myself back on tomorrow evening, probably on zwift.

Did anyone do ridelondon today? Pretty nasty weather... crazy bad luck considering how nice it’s been recently and going to continue to be next week.

Good of Cavendish to turn up in the pro race. Even if it was to collect some appearance fees
I was supposed to ride but based on the forecast yesterday I decided to pull out.

I'm off to Annecy for a week's cycling this Friday and decided I wasn't going to take any risk with the weather and any possible accidents.

Great picture. Not what I think of for the middle of winter.

Edit: did you see the eclipse?

No I didn't Randy, was it across Western Australia?

I'm truly impressed with Perth, which is something, because I generally can't stand cities. The only other city which impressed me was Copenhagen

The eclipse was supposed to be yesterday in WA. We've never been to Australia but would like to visit some day.
