Still bloody cold mate!! :cold: You're braver than me - I'd much rather move further south, where the sun shines longer and warmer :sun: Hope it all goes well for you and HID :okay:

Thank you Sir...

You’re right, it is cold and rains for fun but the roads are perfect for cycling.. decent condition, very quiet and on more occasions than not, the ‘other road users’ are polite and give plenty of space. I’d fallen out of love with cycling during my latter years in the People’s Republic of Yorkshire, due to poor, congested roads.. lovely once in the Dales but again, it became roulette with tourist coaches seeking Compo, Clegg & Jimmy Herriot.. when I arrived in the land of the Scot, I immediately recognised it’s potential for enjoying the odd ride or two, add to that a need to lose a few pounds and of course, joining you lot in the virtual peloton... the rest as they say.. is out of my draft.. I tried a cheeky 5 hour ride last week from the new place on new roads.. absolutely one of the best rides yet.. stunning.. and a decent pace for an old duffer..

Just realised.
I have probably been through there a few times on my way to RAF Machrihanish, or pretty close.
A82 from Glasgee and then down the A83.
I would have loved to have been on a motorbike on the A83!

Jim, for stage 1 you'll get all the ghosts if you challenge me, AAAC or Randy.
