I've got the classic trainer so i don't suffer with the dead stops so i do get a slight  advantage, but I've got to say if it didn't get lumpy near the end you would of had me i was struggling near the end and at one point it was down to 10 seconds and i was panicking well done mate good riding

 I've got to admit im missing the goat league but im thinking of doing alp d'Huez on Sunday getting ticked off with the bingly bong emails from it.

@Whorty i thought there was something wrong and did think it could of been your chain bad luck it could be your rear derailleur just needs indexing as the others have said, hope you get it sorted soon.
I was well miffed. Felt really good. I was with Jim's ghost and you a few seconds behind me I was looking for a good time. Quite looking forward to doing that ride once i get the bike fixed

I could redo that course and knock another minute off as my towel kept falling on the floor and i had to stop and pick it up twice!!! So lost a bit of time.

Also got some avi's

After POC helmet

The last 4 seconds of the POC avi is what I'm aiming to hold for the entire 25 km TT.

I can't pretend to be qualified to talk about the best aero positioning but when you have the poc helmet on you look like a human cannonball and that can only be a good thing!

I do find it interesting though. It's funny but I thought it would be better to be lower down as this makes you smaller if that makes sense. But like I say I no very little on this. What were the specific reasons for the change in position if you dont mind me asking Lars? Is it more aero. More efficient. Or both / something else.

I'm just shy of 6'4 and Lars looks similar, maybe a little smaller? But that's where the similarities end! He looks like a torpedo, I look like an anchor! ^_^

^_^ Well, it's not very practical when trying to stay out of the wind or climbing a mountain.
I think Jacob Skovsgaard has similar proportions, except he's probably got 20 kg more muscle.

It's really just down to minimizing you frontal area, so if I had toothpicks for legs (I almost do ), then in theory I could sit 5 meters up as long as my back is flat.
One thing is for sure though, it's a serious waste to have your head stick out above your shoulders.

LB I can see that you were quite low in your original position and back of the crank with your hips. New position is overall higher front and rear but much further forward allowing power to be applied beyond 6 o'clock on rotation. There seems to be a common acceptance low is not always fastest.

Have you got power figures you can compare ? Are you going to train with the new position on the trainer to develop the power?

Very bad luck Whorty. It's probably stretched the derailleur cable a little, it probably only requires a couple of twists on the cable extender.. Do a YouTube for setting cycle gears.. it'll be on there somewhere.

What I normally do, and its easy to do on a turbo, is (with the turbo switched off, rotate the pedal by hand and put the front ring on the big ring and the rear on the middle gear. While rotating the pedals to turn the back wheel adjust the rear mech in with the knurled knob until the gear changes then adjust the other way a click at a time until it changes up twice (just) i.e. back thru the middle gear and up onto the next sprocket.
You will normally find (with shimano anyway) that it takes 16 clicks. Go back 8 clicks and you should be centred.
Now change through the block to see if you can get all the gears.
If you can't then follow the you tube guide because it would take me all night to type what is actually quite simple.

Take it off for cycling.
It's messy but really aero plus
1. Less weight
2. Forced air effect at speed, more oxygen into the lungs just like a supercharger scoop on a car.
3. It hurts less if you fall off (no brain)
