Ok Kipster, and apologies Peteaud for not realising you were in another conversation.
What is the best way to find a multiplayer session? Is it just to log onto BKool in multiplayer and see what's scheduled in the day/evening?

I think that is the best way.

Or race a bot, but they leave me standing.

Is there a knack to getting the google earth view when doing a ride? I have only managed to get it to work once and no idea how I set it up. Could have done with it for my Tooting - Boxhill - Tooting 40miler today just to have something to look at lol.

How are people finding hills and their gearing in conjunction with the BKool? I'm running 39/52 up front and 11/28 rear and today on Boxhill I near enough came to a halt. I was left thinking if I need to get a new cassette 30/12 or even switch to a compact up front.

As it happens snaily i was just thinking same thing , my last 2 ride outs have both been with stick men instead of google earth coming on , but it allso said in red text top of the screen I couldn't connect to the bkool , I prefer the google earth look to the cartoon men on bikes
Not suprised you're coming to a near halt , I need the compact and have a 11 - 28 on the rear ,

Raced 6 bots yesterday for the first time over 30 miles, the one was a persistent beggar and chased me down within 20 miles, could feel my leg muscles wanting to cramp up after 17 miles and was struggling with acid reflux but pushed on and finished 2nd bloody hard work.

That's the same gearing as me, I tend to spin at quite a high cadence and works quite well, what is the %of boxhill?

I was just googling round trying to find the info and was getting various answers. Looking at the ride on BKool site it lists max slope as 11.8 and min as -11.28 anything over 5% was hard work.

The google earth plug in is a pita and does not seem to work on rides you have planned but not actually ridden.

I am guessing but it might be to do with the way GPX is formatted. When you plan a route and upload it is a GPX Trac, when you have ridden it then it is a GPX Course. Routes i plan i only get the side view, routes taken from my garmin allow Google Earth.

As for gradiant most of the local stuff around here is around 6% with the BKool, running to 12% max. I use a 12/30 cassette anyway so although it is hard, i can do it. If you want to make it easier, change the wind to 180 degrees and give yourself a 10mph or so tailwind, bit of a cheat but does help.

If that is the reason I wonder if its works by changing the file from a track to a course first in a programme like convert gpsies
Will give that a try later

Peteaud, what's a bot, I'm still getting used to the forum as a newbie.
I'm riding later if anyone is riding!

When you set up your session you can select opponents before you ride. These can be real or 'Bots' (robots). There amateur, amatuer+ right up to eleite bots and you can choose any or all of them to ride with in your session. You will see the little bastards on the ride profile as you ride!
