ha, hopefully  I really like the new update, chiefly for giving me much higher power number ;) will have to run another FTP test soon.

How well do you think bkool simulate drafting? I've got precious little experience of it yet, other than it seems a lot harder to modulate your effort to hold a wheel, compared to in real life. Probably because other riders just try and shake me off! in the example of today's ride, where you averaged approx 42 kph, you would expect drafting to save you maybe 25-30% power perhaps?

Looks like I may just have to try drafting you for the whole session then give it 600 watts on the last lap ;).

Bkool drafting is difficult IMO though. Its difficult to stay just where you need to be.

There is another league you might like to join that most of us are in. Its called The Rebels and the latest stage is Col de la Madeleine which I think opens today. This one is the toughest Bkool ride I've ever done (if that helps get anyone motivated ). I don't suggest anyone starts out fast. Leave the big watts until the end if there's any left.

No league I'm afraid so here it is ...

Bill - 17.5 km - Avg Watts 230.8 - Max Watts 626.0 - Speed 44.9 km/h - Time 23:23
Adam - 17.5 km - Avg Watts 218.0 - Max Watts 391.0 - Speed 42.2 km/h - Time 24:52
Geoff - 17.5 km - Avg Watts 205.6 - Max Watts 428.0 - Speed 42.2 km/h - Time 24:53 - 1 bl**dy second! :cursing:
RunExeter - 17.5 km - Avg Watts 214.9 - Max Watts 430.8 - Speed 39.0 km/h - Time 26:55

Geoff

Sounds like I missed a fun session.

My effort didn't stack up as badly as I thought it might:
25km - Avg Watts 234 - Max Watts 515 - Speed 42.6 km/h Time 35:13

I might have been mixing it with Adam and Geoff.

Anyone want to own up to being Jason Corah or Meldrewcab on Bkool, so I can tie up with the CC tag?

And before anyone says it, I can do without the "I'm Jason and so's my wife" answers ...:banghead:

Sorry Geoff. I think I let them in before you mentioned it might be best to be able to tie them in to posters here (which I think is a good plan too). Probably best to delete them and if they post on here they can be re-included.

yeh ! :wahhey:its about time i beat someone !

Berty, I saw some of your routes on Bkool and noticed one ends up our way, with the climb up Cothelstone. That's quite a climb, isn't it?

The first time I tried it, some skinny bloke made me jump by cycling up behind me, saying hello, and then clearing off! I was concentrating on the pain so hard I nearly fell off when he spoke, I must confess I called him a rude name (in fun)...

Hope it wasn't you ...

Before sharing the routes of the week with you we'd like to talk about the new features incorporated by the recent Bkool Indoor simulator update.
Wind: You can choose sessions with or without wind. The weather data is real, and refers to the location where the session takes place. (It is activated on the simulator, at: Details > Set up)
New models for bots and cyclists in 3D.
Messages on the road: As a spectator in the 3D mode, you can write messages on the road.
Search for "Live" sessions: a new filter has been added that allows you to search by user or session name within the "live" sessions. :wahhey:
Data panel: the type of opponent is indicated (bot, ghost or human) on the ranking during the session.
Session notes: the user can write a note on his workout.
Non-controllable devices: you can complete sessions using just one of these devices: power meter, speedometer, cadence monitor, or heart rate monitor. You can even complete a session without any connectable device
Pairing: a new pairing screen to include new devices.
In the event the simulator has not given you a message indicating the availability of a new version, you can download it on Simulator > Bkool Indoor

i had the idea of lejog through the winter as i am hoping to do it again in summer and wanted to check the route that someone else had done - all i can say is they must have been bonkers ! they go out their way to hit the hills , i have been waylaid on that as i have been doing leagues instead so i am only in chepstow but i am enjoying the league stuff more ( sorry for not being about last night , i have come to realise i am more endurance than speed - and i dont need reminding every 30 seconds by people whizzing by me ) i want to continue lejog though as he seems to have a way round warrington that looks really quiet and only adds a few miles - last time i hit it at a busy time and i was way out my depth and i dont suppose it has got any better
only today i was called a skinny bloke by someone who hadnt seen me for a while ( cleaned up a bit ) and i must admit i do enjoy silent running up a hill followed by a cheery hello then trying to break away trying to hide the fact my legs feel like dropping off . only been down near you that once but loved it - every year we go weymouth though and the bike comes along - theres some lumpy bits there as well ! although we dont have major hills in northants i think we are fairly lucky as i can go right and make it flat as a pancake or any other way to have short sharp shocks - that add up and get you in the end

Here you go Geoff I found something you may recognise ^_^

Oh yes, thanks, it's emblazoned in my memory, particularly the 18%+ bit at the top, which seemed to go on for ever ...

That video is basically 8 minutes of listening to a bloke panting and gasping!

7:48 is a great time, he was going a lot faster than I did.

My Sister in law lives near the bottom, and said "It's not too bad, I've driven up it loads", which wasn't much help.
