I tried to take a photo of the writing on the local monument for General Sir David Baird but couldn’t quite get it all in. Hard to read as it’s very weathered too. Poor thing is starting to look in need of some work.

Get yer scrubbing brush going then smother it with baby oil

(wash yer minds out, it keeps anything like mosses, lichens from growing on gravestones etc)
