So close and they turn around!
It’s one of many mail parcel pickups/drop offs , East Midland airport is the uk hub. Have a look at either Louisville or Memphis airports in the US, FedEx have five empty planes flying over the US in case of any logistical problems, Fedex UPS planes fly over after nine each evening heading across the pond.

Good morning all :hello:

Never made East Midlands Airport before turning back. They can't do airdrops, can they?
Later disappeared from radar. RadarBox24, around Carlisle at 11,000 feet, FlightRadar24, W of departure airport at 00:02, at 4,100 feet.

Loganair, Flybe and some of the smaller planes use Mode S and not ASDB and their position is calculated by MLAT (receivers over a certain area, a cross check)

Top half of a screendump from my VRS (fed from my setup)
the ones without distance speed are Mode S transponders (they have until 2020 to update their systems) eg LOG86BX (loganair), the ADSB ones are precise location.
New ADSB satellite tracking is being set-up and this would have helped in locating the missing Malaysian Airlines plane.

Vantage
