What's the area like to visit?

I was thinking of renting a cottage around Portrush and seeing that area and Galway as well.

I can recommend the North, the folk are friendly and I mean friendly...
it has its history...but in the many occasions I have been across, I've really enjoyed.
It looks cracking cycling, lots of roads and some a wee bit narrow.
I love Norn Iron and the South of course, spent two cracking family holidays in Courtown, south of Dublin....
I have fished in both the N and S..
and the Guinness is to die for......and an Ulster Fry:thumbsup:

Thanks Bobby.

I've been over there a fair bit for work and holidays.

Dublin, Castlecomber near Kilkenny, and Foynes, in the south for holidays. From those placed we've visited Killarney, Limerick, Youghal, Adare, Kilrush, and probably a few others I can't remember.
Then for work you can add on Mallow, Cork, Waterford, Wexford, Navan, Thurles, and Sligo

I've never been up north for a holiday, just work in Belfast, Moira, and Craigavon, I fancy a trip to Antrim though.
From there you could probably get to Galway and Donegal quite easily.
Plus stopping in the north means missing out on the high cost of living in the south, I went into a Spa in Castlecomber and they wanted 2 euros for a Can of Guinness about four years ago!

Portrush would be a good area as Donegal wouldn't be that far away..ferry across at Derry LOL.
Aye prices down south have crept up fast since I first headed over to fish in the 90s...petrol way cheaper though.
My 4 times removed grandfather is from the immediate area around Coleraine. My excuse to head back over plus they do a ferry from Campbeltown to NI now so who knows:thumbsup:.
The area can be like anywhere in Scotland TBH except the road signs are orange
