Could`nt be bothered to cook so wifey got fish & chips, just chillin with a bottle of Corona and a Quadruple choc cookie (bit too rich for me). Definitely got to get a good sleep tonight as I have a long ride planned for tomorrow.

Just trying to sort out a route with @Goonerobes hoping he knows the roads better than me, I dont normally venture out into the forest very often and stick to my normal circuit, Just looking for some new roads and challenge myself for longer rides.

Ever had any hassle with the locals. I have seen some things on here about a small number of them being very anti cycling and causing a few problems during sportives.

Never had any probs with locals and I do believe the last sportive went off without any problems. Last I heard the nimbys were trying to get some kind of bylaw or something limiting the numbers and amount of events. Everyone I see are pleasant enough.

There is a thread on here that has outlined some of the problems in the past. As you say the majority are probably decent folk who would be nice to you as long as you are nice to them. There seemed to be some local councillor that was stirring it up and I suppose a few locals don't reflect the views of the vast majority of folk there, of which there are most likely to be fellow cyclists.
I remember a few years ago, in a little village nearby there is a local football club, that play to a decent standard on a Saturday. They have a clubhouse with a bar etc. The locals were complaining about cars parking in the village etc. It was odd how a woman on the local council kept trying to cause the club problems and she lived in another village. Her friend lived in the village in question, so it was quite apparent what was going on there. The team have been there for years and provide a facility for people and the vast majority haven't got a problem

Since I have lived down here I have noticed that the majority are a friendly bunch but go over the cattlegrids and you seem to get a clicky group of stuckups that dont like certain things. I remember that the "locals" of Lymington were up in arms at the prospect of a 99p store tainting their little quaint town :headshake:
