I was thinking Cellulitis myself. It sounds just like the symptoms I experienced when I had cellulitis.
Get it checked out if it gets worse SL. Both Cellulitis and gout are excrutiating. Cellulitis comes on very suddenly and for no apparent reason but ABs sort it very quickly.

I don't have any experience of that

Lucky you. I hope that you never do either. A friend of mine got it on her face once. She's a skinny racing whippet. My ex FIL got it a lot too, he was an obese,wino who just accepted that his lifestyle had some downsides and carried on regardless. Being fit or unfit, fat or thin, Cellulitis doesn't care.
